Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a script from a physician to get reimbursed?

Nope! Illinois is a Direct Access state. The only exception is if you are coming for Tempromandibular Joint (Jaw/TMJD) pain, we do need a referral from your dentist. If you have a PPO plan, you do not need a referral or script to access physical therapy services. If you have an HMO plan, you may still require a referral and/or authorization at your insurance companies request.

What if I have a script?

If you saw a physician and were given one, you can upload a picture of it on your intake or bring in for us to scan into your chart. We often fax over your evaluation and relevant follow-up notes to your referring physician to update him/her on your progress.

Do you take insurance?

Yes, we accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO plans. BCBS HMO plans have additional requirements that may delay care. For all other insurers, services will be an out of pocket cost; however, we do provide courtesy billing which means we send the paid invoice to your insurance company on your behalf for reimbursement. The potential for reimbursement will depend on your individual insurance plan. Medicare/Medicaid is not eligible for courtesy billing.

Do you offer drop in appointments?

At this time, all appointments are scheduled with 24 hours notice, but same day appointments may be available, just give us a call at (224) 334-3075. You are able to conveniently check availability online and schedule yourself.

What are the available hours and are they posted somewhere?

Hours are fluid and based on therapist availability, need and demand. If you are not seeing available times that work for you, please e-mail your therapist or pt@abetterwaytotrain.com with your schedule availability and we will do our best to accommodate. Our earliest appointments are usually between 6-6:30am, with our latest 7-7:30pm. Saturday hours are often available.

How do you protect my privacy and use my data?

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties. We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers who help us deliver our services (including SMS delivery), but only as necessary to provide those services. You can find our full privacy policy HERE
