Let The Success (And Failure) Be Theirs

It’s funny how often we praise our patients or students when they succeed—but blame ourselves when they don’t.
There’s something powerful, and freeing, about letting both the success and the failure belong to them.
That doesn’t mean we distance ourselves or care any less. It means we teach and guide in a way that provides support while preserving their autonomy.
Setbacks will happen; our job is to take them seriously—not personally—and help them reflect, regroup, and replan.
