Therapeutic Alliance

Therapeutic alliance — the trust and connection between clinician and patient — is one of the strongest predictors of outcomes we have. Stronger than our techniques, our training,  or any “tool” in our bag.


Patients who trust their clinician are more willing to be uncomfortable, more honest about what is and isn't working, and more likely to show up, inside and outside of the clinic.


We spend years learning how to treat the body. We don't spend nearly enough time learning how to connect with the person inside it.
